Просмотров 167День назад
During Kabbalat Shabbat services at Temple Israel (West Bloomfield, Mich.), Rabbi Jen Lader talked about the joy of 'stepping into someone else's story' and how the Torah checks off the same boxes that a good book does. Our sacred text is a good read and has staying power because the story itself is very powerful, shares Rabbi Lader. We are part of the story; each of us have our own stories but...

Thank you for your wonderful teachings. You make things very much easier to understand!
Yashar Koach on completing this series of classes, Patricia! That took a major commitment on your part. don't understand the song. The other side was massacred. They wanted to kill the jews or should we think how Haman was responsible for fooling those people to thinks it was the jews fault.Sad for people to die
War sucks but what about the Hamas attacks???
Meraviglioso ❤
A point may be turned into anything (e.g. drawing a house, a sphere or whatever, out of the point), but it limits the anything down to somewhere and not anywhere (when the point is part of the drawing of the house, the drawing is located by that point), so the potential of a point is certainly limited to a certain ->point in space, thus not being of unlimited possibilies in respect of location. Yet still the shapes that can be formed starting at it, are not limited in any way; so I would argue, a point could be seen as the first limitation to the infinite (still being infinite, but with narrowed down potential), visualizing the ein sof into grasp of our understanding by metaphorically projecting it into our conscious understanding. From this point we try to expand our understanding of the ein sof back to the complete picture, which is destined to fail; if you only see one pixel of a photo that has for example a resolution of 1024x1024 pixels, it is impossible to imagine, how the entire photo would look like just from that pixel alone, rendering it an exercise in futility, we can only hope the entire picture is a good one, but we can not be certain. Regarding this aspect, I wonder how it makes sense, that we assume anybody would know about the workings beyond this metaphorical point? Is there an explanation to how the look onto this metaphorical point has extended to a vaster understanding of the entirety behind it by the scribes of kabbalistic texts?
An excellent observation that the point metaphor breaks down when it comes to location. In the analogue of Chochma that we are exploring, the pure point of Chochma has no information or detail whatsoever, including metadata such as in what intellectual space it is located. In the analogy of a drawing, the first dot on a page has both location, and some actual area, which are the development of Binah. On the other hand, yes, Chochma of the Ein Sof is an enormous contraction and limiting of G-d's being with the purpose of relating to created beings. That is why we say a human cannot fathom even one of G-d's thoughts. Still, trying to get a grasp on the source of Chochma, and any connection to the workings of G-d's mind, so to speak is very much the focus of Kabbalah and Chassidus.
@@TempleIsraelMI Thank you for your reply. As seen on the videos and by the answers you give under your videos, I think of you as a very understanding and intelligent teacher. It's really a shame it is impossible to find a teacher, let alone kabbalist where I live. I would love to learn more about kabbalah and how to live a Kabbalistic life, yet here in Valais (Kanton [similar to a "State" in the US] in Switzerland) there isn't even a Synagogue or any jewish temple like structures, nor institutions. Your Videos are invaluable and very helpful, yet I wished after these classes, I had somebody to talk about it [there are so little jewish people where I live, that I don't even personally know a single jewish person...] to fasten the learned content to the mind and understand it more properly. Would you know by any chance of any suggestions you could make, that could be helpful in this regard?
@@user-zq4ov3hb4v Happy to be in touch and discuss any thoughts. If you can email Maya@Temple-Israel.org she can set up a time to Zoom - perhaps after Passover when things are a little quieter? As well, it looks like there is a good teacher in Lucerne, I think not far from Valais? If you write to info@chabadLuzern.com, or call +41-41-361-1770, Rabbi Chaim Drukman has authentic expertise teaching this school of Kabbalah & Chassidus. Warmly, Michael
@@TempleIsraelMI thank you very much for the valuable information about Rabbi Chaim Drukman and the offer to make a zoom call, which I gladly accept. I will contact Maya and look forward to the call. I am an absolute novice regarding Kabbalah, hence some questions/thoughts I have may seem naive or even off topic, or simply false, thus I hope it will still be worthwhile your valuable time. Thank you Michael. Best Regards Daniel
Not presonal but look at your pèers. Alda, etc wow. I cant even rememeber the names of famous jews who "fantically lost " their popularity being jewish ego leaves jews like a plague or deluge. Truly. Keep it simple and to the point and stfu. Youm will get laughs but its topical. Not lasting. You have value and are important but genetically not a leader. I know you know what im talking about your great wisdom is true and historically the most discarded of all wisdoms. Kèep it short. Make your point. Dont incorporate your witty jewish self. Your role is totally totally humble or sublect to inhalation. Have a nice day. 😊
Thank you for today's important and insightful spiritual lesson. I've listened several times! Please have a wonderfully stellar day.
Tradition!
Chag Purim Sameach !
It seems to me nefesh habehamit is getting constantly fed by for example all advertisments, as they aim at egoistic wants and needs, while also people being on social media look at other people flaunting their nefesh habehamit side, posing as if they are happy, enforcing the feeling to the viewer, that if he intensifies the feeding of his nefesh habehamit, he will be happy too; while in reality the unhapiness of so many people is a result of the fact, that their nefesh ha'elokit is malnourished, and forms a void that literally can be felt by so many. The lack of growth in the nefesh ha'elokim then results in making it impossible for the person to form Yesod, as they can't commit to anybody as commiting to somebody can't be purely egoistic, thus making it impossible again to form valuable relationships. Reflected in the current world, this is expressed through increased depression- (due to the void at the place, where nefesh ha'elokim should grow), drug abuse- (as they think they have to intensify their feeding of nefesh habehamit) and divorce rates (through the lack of being able to form yesod as nefesh ha'elokim is basically non-existant). As I am a gentile who has not much knowledge about kabbalah, I would like to ask, if this interpretation is correct or wrong due to a lack of understanding or knowledge?
